Moodthemes, if you aren’t familiar with them; are small images that convey emotions (aka emotion icons!). In this tutorial, you will learn how to add your own custom moodtheme images from movie/series screencaps. These custom moodthemes are avaliable from various LiveJournal users. If you search, you’ll probably find the right set for your likes.
If you already have a Paid/Plus account, skip ahead to step #3!
1. Go to your Manage Account page.
2. Click “Upgrade to Plus” and then hit “Save”. Don’t worry, this is only for a short amount of time! You will soon be ad free, but with a mood theme.
3. Head on over to your Admin Console.
4. Copy and paste this into it: moodtheme_create “title” “mood theme by creatorname“ Click “Execute”. Do not move away from this page!
5. Open Notepad, or a similar text editor. Copy and paste the below into it:
6. Go back to your Admin Console, and find where it says this: Success. Your new mood theme ID is ###. (The “###” will be an actual number)
7. Copy this number, and switch to Notepad. Go to Edit – Replace. Under “Find What:”, type ###. Under “Replace With:” type your mood theme ID number. (The one given to you on your Admin Console page) Hit “Replace All”.
8. Copy the entire Notepad document, and paste it into your Admin Console. Hit “Execute”.
9. Go to your Customize theme page. Under the Display tab, find “Mood Themes”. Click the dropdown list, and scroll down to Personal Themes, under which you should find the title of the moodtheme avaliable. Select this, and click “Save Changes”.
10. Go to your Manage Profile page. Under Bio, add the following (or some variation of it):
11. If you want to switch back to a Basic account, go back to your Account page, and click “Switch to a Basic Account”, then “Switch to a Basic Account”.

*EXTRA: If the moodtheme creator did not upload it on their own server…
1. Download the file.zip into your computer.
2. Upload your images
http://www.photobucket.com (recommended)
2. Go to:
http://livejournal.com/admin/console
write:
moodtheme_create <name> <desc>
and click “execute”
3.It will give you a number, open the adminconsolecodes.txt file and replace the “12345″ with this number. Change the http://www.______.com/ to the place where you uploaded your files.
4. Copy all into the Admin Console and execute it.
5. go to:
http://www.livejournal.com/customize/
look for the opcion “Customize your theme”, and then select the mood theme from the list.
