Doesn’t sound very interesting, right? 命中注定我愛你. Boring!

At least that was my first impression of this Taiwanese drama. I was watching They Kiss Again; of course – the sequel of my all-around favorite ISWAK drama; on YouTube (last week). That’s when I noticed this new title popping up correspondingly with the episode parts of TKA from the uploader. I was annoyed, to say the least. Especially annoyed to see Ethan Ruan again; starring as the “prince” of the female lead. He looks so much like Ming Dao, who annoyed me in Prince Turns To Frog drama back in 2006. So I did what I could – by carefully ignoring every video of 命中注定我愛你. To be honest, I don’t blame it all on the title (which also annoyed my conscience because it is already so OBVIOUS that since this is a Taiwanese drama, it already tells me what the ending would be – but they think it’s not all that obvious yet, so they actually have to have the title ANNOUNCE what is going to happen – LIKE someone’s gonna need medication from a sudden lack of romance! ROFL..)

Turns out I was wrong, because this drama is really refreshing to watch and has a rather pleasing storyline (although a tad inappropriate). After I finished the first episode, I ached to start on the second one (that’s how good this was!). I originally thought Taiwanese dramas were starting to run out of decent plots and were going down one by one, but so far, I haven’t been disappointed with this one. Well there were some minor disppointments of course, like I didn’t understand why in the first episode, they had 2 copies of the female lead (Qiao En); one to introduce he life, and one to act in it. Those parts could be done better if they actually acted them out alone, that way letting the audience experience and absord more into the story.

Now, I’m off to watch episode 2, so stay tuned! Or not, cuz I am wayyy slow in reporting any new stuff..but you can catch the drama via YouTube or PPLive (i recommend pplive if you understand Chinese!) but I don’t think there are any subs in English out yet.  Oh wait, there is, on Veoh! SO, after you watch the first episode of 命中注定我愛你 – you better like it just as much as I did!^^
